Diego Cibelli winner of Prix Carta Bianca
Award
Diego Cibelli won the 2024 edition of the Prix Carta Bianca, a major initiative to support contemporary artistic creation, developed between France and Italy, which aims to create a dialogue between the worlds of art and health.
Finding its source in the intersection between art and the sensitive dimension of the human being, the Prix Carta Bianca builds a bridge between the world of artists and the world of patients.
It is based on the strong core values inherent in the health professions: sharing, self-sacrifice, commitment, solidarity, and humanity. The Carta Bianca Prize was born from the belief that the encounter between the emotional and sensitive world of artists and that of people weakened by the trauma of illness is a mutual source of inspiration and personal enrichment. Indeed, artistic creation and the vital impulse for transformation after illness share deep ties: the art of questioning, exploration, experimentation, critical comparison, and increased knowledge in search of a renewed interpretation of self and one's environment.
With an annual endowment that places it among the most important French and European Prizes, the Carta Bianca Prize thus includes financial and human support by offering the First Prize artist a range of possible modes of support (scholarship, residencies between France and Italy, access to a workshop , production assistance, etc.), while the other seven winners benefit from financial support and the possibility of an order.
After two editions that allowed the support of sixteen artists, the Carta Bianca Prize continues its action this year 2024 by selecting eight visual artists chosen by a French-Italian committee of expert members including eight emblematic personalities from the world of art and culture.
